HI EVERYONE! My husband and I bought our home extremely builders grade in 2013, but larger home, in a gated community on a cul de sac, knowing we would want to someday raise a family here and the house would be plenty big and safe for it. These before pictures of the kitchen below is when we were just looking at the home, so this is none of our stuff in it and all I could find for before pictures.
We ended remodeling our kitchen at the end of 2016 as in totally gutting it. We or “I” wanted a different layout that functioned better for us. We were just two people and had a little bistro type table in the kitchen and our large dining room table was “what seemed” so far away to bring all the dishes and food for meal times. Which again, being only the two of us, we usually ate on the couch anyways. We had our first baby December 29th, 2015 and I really wanted a eat in kitchen area.
Before we gutted it, small changes we had made were stainless steel appliances (well that one was kinda big) 🙂 Added a glass tile backsplash, new faucet and updated the pantry door which you can find here: http://butterflykissphotos.com/pantry-door-update/
When we bought the home, we ripped all carpet up in the downstairs, and tore up this lovely salmon colored tile in the kitchen and laid a dark laminate floor. That alone was a huge difference! Oh and cant forget that beautiful light hanging… we replaced it with a simple track light.
The gutted remodel…. (kept all the changes I mentioned, appliances, backsplash, pantry door, and our awesome touch faucet)
Soooo wen’t for a large kitchen island mainly because we added the end space where the X design is for the kitchen table! Woo hoo! There is enough space for 6 people to eat at counter, but right now since our son was born, its been perfect for the 3 of us just at the end. (When our son was younger, we had a clip on high chair that went right onto the counter top, which was amazing for all meal times).
The light hanging is from West Elm and my favorite light in the whole house!
Cabinet drawers are also so great to have on the lower half! We did a mix of drawers, cabinets, pull out spice cabinet, and a large corner cabinet for stuff like crockpot and small appliances. On the top we added two glass cabinets one that features our plates and bowls, and one that has all of our bar ware.
Backsplash is a very light blue, gray, and stone.
After many. many, many, countertop warehouses, I finally found one that I loved! It is a Quartzite material (so i guess its not quite Quartz, but its higher grade then granite) I just loved the colors and pattern and has some slight sparkle to it!
We just recently trimmed our kitchen window as well which I am so in love with! (this though is going to be addicting… I want all windows done and our slider glass door now) But that will come in time especially with our baby girl due now in just 5 short weeks. 🙂
Before and After Picture of window Trim:
The End! So glad we did this remodel, its like it changed our whole house, but just the function of it has made cooking and eating so much better! We also added 3 LED can lights as well to circle our kitchen for more light rather then just our pretty chandelier.
We are thrilled be adding a girl, making our 2 year old boy promoted to Big Brother! I am going into my 17th week of Pregnancy and her due date is August 28th according to the ultrasounds and August 30th according to online due date calculators. We are hoping for the 29th though, for our Wedding Anniversary is January 29th and our son Dallas’s Birthday is December 29th so it would be just be cool. 🙂 I will keep some updates going as the time goes on.
Thank you to all of my awesome clients for your always continued support.
Lilly and her family finally were all together in the same city and lucky for her and hubby, they are here to stay for the time being! She has been wanting these images for so long, so long that her family grew even more! She was looking for kind of a rustic feel and I told her I knew of this spot off of McGregor in Fort Myers with beautiful old trees where the light comes in beautifully. She agreed on this spot after a lot of different options and she loved the feel of the images. I kid around with her saying she is too picky and too stressed out about it and MAKE UP YOUR MIND. haha (she knows im playing) but i’m grateful because it shows how truly important these images are to her!
Its tough to choose what to wear for your High School Senior Photo shoot. We want you to be yourselves but at the same time, usually stepped up just a notch. You don’t want to look back and say what the “……” was I wearing, why did I wear those torn cargo shorts that I used to wear every day or that dress that has seen better days. Go shopping and grab a couple new items you love. Do you see a perfect outfit out here?!? You can shop right online with the links below.

I had a complete vision for this photo shoot that I had been wanting to do for over a year now. I was waiting for the perfect person to come along, but I actually ended up reaching out to a friend of mine from middle school (thanks for social media friendship) because I knew he had a son who would be the perfect person for my vision. Since this was a session I envisioned and wanted for my creative children’s portraiture portfolio, I treated it as a model call and HE ROCKED IT! I love learning about the parents and what their interests are themselves and then incorporating it into their children’s or family photo session. This is why I use the word Custom. I want to make it unique and custom to you.
The weather today is amazing, is it not?!? I am loving this 68 degree temp! Today, I have a fabulous style board for an engagement session for both you and your man. Accessories are not as important as your actual clothes, but they are still important! Check out this man’s watch and that statement necklace! Im not quite sure if there is a proposal season, but I tend to see a lot around the holidays, so lets just say it is! Opening a Christmas present as an engagement ring or under fire works on New Years eve! LOVE. Check out the details below for every piece!

This Gentleman was genius for hiring me to capture such a special moment while he proposed to his girlfriend! It was a perfect moment and now they can always visually remember this time! I offer proposal collections, so make sure to make that a part of the process. Ladies…just mention to your boyfriend that you read this article and you thought it was such an amazing idea. Hopefully he will remember and get the hint when the time comes. 🙂
One of my top questions I get asked from clients is, “what do I wear?” High schools seniors in general have a pretty good sense of fashion, but you want to step it up a notch and think about all of the details in an outfit. From your fingernail color to accessories and different looks from each outfit. Whether clients are female or male, I always tell them to bring at least 4-5 outfits and we will choose 3. We may choose bits and pieces from each outfit! Butterfly Kisses is now creating style boards to give ideas of what to wear for clients. I will be doing all subjects, even Weddings! Families, Seniors, Just Siblings, Engagements, etc. Not only will a style board be created, it will have the exact name of item and where it came from! All blog posts will have the links to easily access them. How fun is that?!?
Cheers to the first one!!

Have you ever had a party and wish there was just something that some guests would have fun with instead of just mingling?!? Something that they will always remember from your party!?!
The Holidays are coming… Christmas Parties are a big hit!
Photo Booth Rentals are a great addition! From young kids to your elders – everyone has a blast!
We have had bookings for christmas parties, birthday parties, homecomings, sweet 16, weddings receptions and baby showers! Which event will you choose?
Our Photo booth is different then those closed walk in ones! I think its way better! We have an open 10×10 backdrop with the equipment needed in front of you including a small tv, light, and camera. You control when you want to take the photo with the wireless clicker you hold in your hand. When you click it, it shows up on the tv screen until the next one is taken!
The best part…. All of your guests can download endless amounts of images from a private online gallery two business days after the event.
For your keepsake, images will come on a USB and have the option of making an album out of your favorite ones as well!

When we moved into our home….. everything, and I mean everything was builder grade. We live in a community and they supposedly knock theses out during the build process as well to get them done quickly. I redid our pantry door a few years back. The before picture is when we were looking to buy the home, so please excuse that horrible, hideous table in the way. Unfortunately this is the only picture I could find. You can see all of those wood slats in the the door right?! I took a hammer and broke them all out!! It felt oh so good! Once broken out, they slide right out of the holes in the sides. So each side of the door where the wood slats were has a little lip on both front and back. Having those, I can make my door in mind have depth by using two pieces of acrylic. (one in the front and one in the back)
I did wood putty the holes and gave the whole door a fresh coat of white paint.
Onto the acrylic! The pretty Part! I wanted a frosted look but some see through so you can see the blue back panel as well. I did the solid back a blue that matched our walls closely so you would not see right into our pantry. I will be doing a whole kitchen update post soon! The front acrylic I taped off in a random design with painters tape and spray painted the frosted paint on it! Ooh and by the way, I had Lowes cut the pieces of acrylic to size for me. BUT…. make sure they do it exactly, I had one piece wasted because they cut it to small! (and they are not super cheap)
ANYWAYS… I right away peeled off the tape and and loved the way it turned it. “Whew”! I was a little nervous about that one.
I place the finished spray painted acrylics into the door lips on both sides and sealed all the way around the edges with clear acrylic sealer. (works just like caulking)
DOOR KNOBS! We had gold door knobs in our entire home! Cheap way of fixing that until the time come to replace them… more spray paint! I painted them a dark grayish color.
Door Knobs Painted Gray from GOLD.
You can see the depth here!
Back Panel solid blue.
