It’s called the Sunshine State, here in Florida. We do have a lot of rainy days though especially here in the summertime! I can’t complain to much though, because without some rain, it is scorching hot!
A MESSY BATH!
A What? Yup, a messy bath, with bath paint! Fill the tub up a little bit and let them paint the bathtub walls! It comes right off with a quick wipe and rinse!
CLEAN!
Are you backed up on your cleaning?
The fun thing about toddlers is that in most cases, they can genuinely enjoy anything they do. So feel free to get some cleaning done on a rainy day!
Get your toddler involved by giving them specific tasks to do, and show them how to do it.
SCAVENGER HUNT!
This is a great learning activity for your toddler!
What you choose to have your toddler find is entirely up to you, but I do recommend making sure it isn’t too difficult. Keep in mind that toddlers have short attention spans, and may need help following simple step-by-step instructions. Make a List of things you hide, and go help them by giving hints of where they are!
DANCE PARTY!
Turn on your favorite (kid-friendly) tunes and get out there and dance! They not only burn off some of their excess energy, but you get a workout in to. Win, Win!
BUILD A FORT!
What kid doesn’t love forts? Grab those sheets and blankets and throw them over tables, chairs, and couches. Grab a book to read or board game to play!
BAKE COOKIES!
Another Win, Win!
My toddler absolutely loves getting in the kitchen and baking with me. On rainy days when we’re stuck inside, some chocolate chip cookies are exactly what we need to cheer up a bit!
Be sure to let your toddler help as much as possible and keep them included. Making the cookies is just as fun as eating them!
ARTS & CRAFTS!
This category can be endless – finger painting, drawing, building object from sticks. One that works great that is not messy, is make pasta jewelry. Grab some string, and any pasta with hole such as ziti and elbows. It will not only keep them entertain, its great for their motor skills!
